Notes and Tips:

1. Candle Storage

Candles should be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place. Do not store them in direct sunlight or in a hot car exposed to the sun, as high temperatures or direct sunlight can cause candles to soften and deform.

2. Candle Maintenance

• Place the candle in the refrigerator for several hours before use to slow down the burning rate.

• Trim the wick regularly (ensure the candle is extinguished first) to keep it at a length of 5-8mm. This helps the candle burn evenly, extends its burning time, prevents black smoke from forming during combustion, and avoids soot buildup on the candle container. An overly long wick can also affect the diffusion of the fragrance.

• For the first burn, keep the candle lit for 1-2 hours. Candles have a “memory burn”—if the first burn doesn’t allow the wax around the wick to melt evenly and fully cover the surface, subsequent burns will be confined to the area around the wick.

• Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. If prolonged burning is needed, extinguish the candle every 4 hours, trim the wick to 5mm, and relight it.

• Never blow out a candle with your mouth! This will produce black smoke, turning the wonderful aroma of scented candles into a smoky smell. Instead, use a candle snuffer or a wick dipper to extinguish it by submerging the wick in the wax.

• Avoid burning regular candles and scented candles at the same time, as the former will absorb the fragrance of the latter.

• Room size affects fragrance intensity: larger rooms will have a milder scent, while smaller rooms will have a stronger one.

• When burning a candle, keep it away from draughty areas to prevent the flame from flickering or tilting, which can cause unsightly wax burning. It is recommended to maintain good ventilation in the room while the candle is burning.

3. Safety Precautions

• Never leave a lit candle unattended.

• Always place a burning candle in a safe location, away from flammable items.

• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

• Protect your furniture: candles can become quite hot after burning for 4 hours, so avoid placing them directly on furniture.

• Stop burning the candle when less than 2cm of wax remains. Continuing to burn it may cause the flame to burn empty, risking the container to crack or explode!

• Some candle styles come without a container, please use them on a tray or similar receptacle to prevent wax from dripping and damaging furniture.
